There are all sorts of ways to work your muscles and strengthen your body. Many of them focus on isolated muscle groups in the body – say, the legs. But there’s one type of exercise that not only offers plenty of muscular benefits but mental and emotional boosts also. Yes! we are referring to Yoga.

Much like any other athletic pursuit, there’s not just one type of yoga. There are many variants that are designed to meet diverse sets of goals. Those looking for very strenuous efforts during yoga may want to turn to a practice such as Ashtanga or Vinyasa. Those are both helpful for increasing cardio strength and follow a particular set of poses. Other practices may add in outside influences, such as elevated heat – known in Bikram yoga. Restorative yoga, on the other hand, offers both relaxation and rejuvenation benefits.
